The Midland Grand Hotel officially opened on 5 May 1873 and was renowned as one of the most advanced hotels of the Victorian era, setting new standards for luxury and innovation. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the original Gothic hotel now forms the Chambers Wing of St. Pancras London.
Today’s Chambers Club was originally the Refreshment Room, located on the ground floor beside the Ladies’ Waiting Room. It later became a private lounge reserved exclusively for guests staying in the Chambers Wing. Now open to everyone, the space retains its original Victorian architecture, ornate detailing, rich interiors and distinctive sense of grandeur.
The Chambers Club is now the elegant new home of Afternoon Tea at St. Pancras London where other types of events can be held. Served in surroundings that have welcomed travellers for more than 150 years, the experience includes finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, seasonal pastries and a selection of fine teas, with the option to add Laurent-Perrier Champagne. Its historic character and calm atmosphere also make it a memorable setting for private celebrations, corporate gatherings and creative events.
